AOECS Launches Report on Safer Gluten-Free Catering
Following the first-ever European Parliament debate dedicated to safe gluten-free catering, AOECS has published a new report outlining practical next steps to improve safety, inclusion and mobility for people living with coeliac disease across Europe.
The report identifies three key priorities for future action:
- Consistency & awareness – improving training, education and reliable allergen management in the hospitality sector.
- Inclusion – increasing access to safe gluten-free meals in public institutions and supporting people with coeliac disease to participate fully in education and society.
- Mobility – making it easier to travel, study and work across Europe while maintaining a medically necessary gluten-free diet.
We would like to thank MEP Peter Agius for hosting this important discussion, and everyone who contributed their expertise and experience. Together, we can build a safer, more accessible and more inclusive Europe for people living with coeliac disease
